Ending the Silence
A NAMI Educational Tool for Use in Schools
Ending the Silence is an educational program to lessen stigma and raise awareness about mental illness among teenagers. It is designed to be presented to high school health classes. Attendees at this workshop will learn:
- The elements of a stigma-reducing program for high school students.
- Proven techniques to reach out to young audiences in your community to promote earlier intervention.
- About the effects of mental illness on adolescents.
NAMI Butte County has just begun to start training individuals to present this course. If you are an individual living with mental illness and are under the age of 30, please consider joining with us to bring this powerful program to high school students in Butte County.
